Privacy Policy
Summary. DoseLeft does not collect, store, or transmit personal information on any server that we operate. Your medication data stays on your device by default. If you turn on iCloud sync, your data is synced through Apple CloudKit under your own Apple ID. We have no access to it.
Information we do not collect
DoseLeft does not require an account. We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other contact details.
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers.
- Analytics, usage statistics, or crash reports through third parties.
- Location data.
- Information for advertising or tracking you across apps or websites.
This is reflected in the app's privacy manifest, which declares no collected data types and no tracking.
Data stored on your device
When you use DoseLeft, the app stores the information you enter, including:
- Medication names, forms, and icons.
- Total doses per container, daily usage, and remaining counts.
- Reminder preferences and notification times.
This data is saved locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. Deleting the app from your device removes this data.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your medication data is synchronized between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit private database. This transport is encrypted in transit and at rest and is tied to your Apple ID. We have no servers and no access to your iCloud data. Apple's privacy policy applies to this transport.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time from the Settings screen inside the app.
Notifications
DoseLeft schedules reminders locally on your device using Apple's UserNotifications framework so that you are alerted before a medication runs out. The app also supports remote notifications for background refresh through Apple Push Notification service. Any tokens involved are handled by Apple and are not linked by us to a personal profile.
Apple Watch
The watchOS app communicates with the iPhone app over the local Apple-provided connectivity channel. No additional information is collected by the Watch app.
Health data
DoseLeft does not read from or write to Apple HealthKit.
Children's privacy
DoseLeft is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will also be mentioned in the App Store release notes.
